1. Who We Are
SMS for WooCommerce is provided by CodeCasa Studios, trading through the CodeCasa SMS
and Send SMS Today websites. In these terms, "CodeCasa", "we", "us", and "our" mean
CodeCasa Studios. "You" means the store owner, business, administrator, or organisation
using the plugin or hosted service.
2. The Service
The service allows WooCommerce stores to send and manage SMS messages, including:
- WooCommerce order status messages and customer note messages.
- Customer account security codes, including two-factor authentication.
- Password reset messages and account links.
- Shortlinks for supported message links.
- Message logs, delivery status updates, credit balances, and subscription billing.
- Automatic 100 SMS top-ups when the balance reaches 10 credits, if enabled.
3. Account Setup and Access
You must provide accurate store, site, email, and phone details during setup. We may
verify your account by SMS. You are responsible for keeping your WordPress administrator
account secure and for ensuring that only authorised people can access the plugin settings.
The service is intended for legitimate WooCommerce store communication. We may refuse,
suspend, or terminate access if details are false, misleading, abusive, or used to evade
these terms.
4. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis to send each SMS message.
- Keeping your own privacy notice, cookie notice, and marketing consent records up to date.
- Ensuring all message content is lawful, accurate, and not misleading.
- Using order, account, and security SMS features only for appropriate customer communications.
- Honouring opt-outs and applicable electronic marketing rules.
- Checking that phone numbers and message templates are correct before sending.
5. Prohibited Use
You must not use the service to send or support:
- Spam, unsolicited marketing, or messages without the required permission.
- Fraudulent, deceptive, phishing, impersonation, or scam messages.
- Illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory content.
- Messages that breach telecoms rules, data protection law, consumer law, or platform rules.
- Emergency service messages or any use where failure or delay could cause serious harm.
- High-risk content such as regulated financial, medical, gambling, adult, or controlled goods messages unless you have all required permissions and we have approved the use.
6. Subscriptions, Billing, and Credits
Subscription plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices, plan limits, and included
SMS credits are shown during checkout or inside the plugin dashboard. Subscriptions renew
automatically unless cancelled.
Credits are used when SMS delivery data confirms the chargeable SMS parts for a message.
If an operator rejects a message in a way we can identify through delivery data, no credit
is deducted for that rejected message.
Auto top-up is on by default for active subscriptions. When enabled, if your SMS balance
reaches 10 credits or less, we may charge the payment method saved on your subscription
for a 100 SMS top-up. The top-up credits are added only after Stripe confirms payment.
You can turn auto top-up off or on in the plugin dashboard.
Unused SMS credits are not cash, are not transferable, and may only be used with the
service. Unless required by law, payments for active subscription periods, used credits,
and successfully supplied top-ups are non-refundable.
7. Stripe and Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe may process
payment and fraud prevention information under its own terms and privacy documents.
You must keep your billing details current. If payment fails, we may pause messaging,
top-ups, or account access until payment is resolved.
8. Third-Party Services
The service depends on third-party infrastructure including hosting providers, database
providers, Stripe, SMS delivery partners, shortlink services, WordPress, WooCommerce, and
internet or telecoms networks. We are not responsible for failures outside our reasonable
control, including carrier filtering, network delays, incorrect phone numbers, or outages
affecting third-party services.
9. Availability and Message Delivery
We aim to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability
or that every message will be delivered, read, or delivered at a specific time. Delivery
may depend on carriers, recipient devices, phone number validity, country restrictions,
fraud controls, and message content.
10. Data Protection
Our privacy policy explains how personal data is handled. For customer SMS data sent
from your store, you are normally the data controller and we act as a processor or service
provider. You must make sure your customers receive appropriate privacy information about
the use of SMS messaging, shortlinks, account security messages, and related processors.
Read our Privacy Policy for more detail.
11. Intellectual Property
We own or license the CodeCasa SMS platform, branding, website content, hosted service,
and related software, except for WordPress, WooCommerce, Stripe, and other third-party
materials. You may use the plugin and service only as permitted by these terms and any
applicable open source licence notices included with the plugin.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. You can cancel a subscription from the plugin
dashboard or through the available billing controls. We may suspend or terminate access
if you breach these terms, misuse the service, create legal or security risk, fail to pay,
or if continued service becomes impractical due to provider, legal, or technical reasons.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. To the fullest
extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of sales,
loss of goodwill, business interruption, lost data, or losses caused by third-party networks,
carriers, platforms, or incorrect use of the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability relating to the service is limited
to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the event giving rise
to the claim.
14. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable
steps to notify users through the website, plugin, dashboard, email, or another appropriate
method. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local law gives
you rights that cannot be changed by contract. The courts of England and Wales will have
jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer or data protection rights.
